HOW DOES REIKI WORK?
Life force flows through the body of every living thing, through pathways called chakras and meridians. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura.
Life force nourishes the body on a cellular level. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it can cause diminished function of the physical body.
The life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings, it becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves.
Our life force can also be influenced by the energy of others past or present.Â
The Reiki practitioner is a conduit for this life force. Reiki energy heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative energy is attached thus dissipating and healing.
Reiki clears, strengthens and heals the energy pathways, allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.
It is important to recognise that Reiki is a complimentary therapy and as such should not be used as a replacement for seeking medical assistance.
HOW IS A REIKI TREATMENT GIVEN?
In a standard treatment Reiki energy flows from the practitioners hands into the client. The client is usually laying on a massage table but treatments can be given while the client is seated or even standing. The client remains fully clothed.
The practitioner places their hands on or near the clients body in a series of hand positions. These include positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and feet.
Other more specific positions may be used based on the clients needs. Each position is held for three to ten minutes depending on how much Reiki the client needs in that position.

IS REIKI SAFE FOR PREGNANT WOMEN AND ANIMALS?
Since Reiki is governed by freedom of choice, it is the choice of the unborn baby as to whether they chose to receive Reiki from either the practitioner or the Mother.Â
Reiki is guided by a higher energy source and it will know the condition of the client and adjust appropriately. Reiki can only do good.
Many expecting mothers have received treatments with great benefit to them and their unborn babies. Reiki is also a useful treatment post natal, as it will help you get your energy back in balance.
HOW DOES DISTANCE REIKI HEALING WORK?
Reiki energy connects with us through an energetic level using the intention and focus of the practitioner to send healing energy and the intention of the client to receive healing.
Distance Reiki sessions work because energy is not limited by distance - distance is a physical limitation only.
We accept other energy frequencies that we cannot see, such as radios, mobile phones and wi-fi. Initially, these frequencies were thought to be too unbelievable to be true, but now they are accepted as normal functioning services. In order for them to work, they have to be tuned in and connected - distance Reiki works the same way.
The Reiki practitioner acts as a conduit and tunes the healing energy to the client, the practitioner may request a picture or a name to strengthen the connection.
HOW DOES ANIMAL REIKI DIFFER FROM HUMAN REIKI HEALING?
Animals are sentient beings and also have an energy system with chakras.
The Reiki energy is the same energy, the main difference is in how the healing is delivered. As with any Reiki treatment choice is paramount and the animal will always have a freedom of choice as to how and if they accept Reiki.
Unlike human healing sessions, the animal can choose how close they wish to be. For example one animal may be happy to receive Reiki healing from a few metres away, with a preference of staying in their own space. Yet another animal may come close, lay down and want hands on treatment.
All animals can be treated with Reiki, though as their guardians it is our responsibility to remember Reiki is not a diagnostic treatment, nor should it take the place of veterinary care.
HOW DOES CRYSTAL HEALING WORK?
Crystal healing is a holistic and natural therapy that taps into the energetic power of crystals and how they affect the body and mind. A crystal healing therapy takes place with the client fully clothed either laid down or seated.
The practitioner will select particular crystals based on the clients needs, as each crystal carries a different vibration. Crystals absorb, focus, direct, detoxify, shift and diffuse energy as they interact with the electromagnetic forces and subtle energies within the living organisms energy field.Â
When we use crystals with animals a more flexible approach is required. This may take the form of dowsing, placing crystals in the animals habitat or allowing them to interact with the crystals how they choose to.
